Nice interesting shot, What camera & lighting set-up did you use to achieve this shot?

In terms of critique, the background on the left appears to have a white smokey texture which could be cloned out to give a consistent colour

Doug there were 2 gridded thin softboxes (1.4m x 400mm) either side of him and angled slightly, he has great angles and thought to use this lighting to accentuate them, D800e iso 125 105mm f5.6 1/160sec

What an interesting look! I really like the symmetry this lighting pattern creates. I actually spent a couple moments checking that you hadn't just split and mirror the file.

I think it requires a very symmetrical person to work well.

I think my favorite part is the shadows of the cheekbones cast inward toward the nose. There's some extremely careful light placement going on here to create a good sense of depth and 3 dimensionality with such a symmetrical lighting pattern. Well done.

:cheer: Beautiful job! He is an awesome model. The whole set is terrific, but this one is the standout for me - drama, flair and my personal preference for B&W.

That left hand might be a tad overprocessed, but overall it's not hurting anything. Hurray!

Lovely work.
Two minor nits - the first is off center for no obvious artistic reason and buzz kills the symmetry issue.
And the first of the ones you put up today is slightly tilted.


All that being said, I would have been very proud to have the skill to shoot any of these.
