They both have possibilities. I think each could be improved with cropping, or (?).

I think most saguaro grow pretty much vertically, so I would straighten #1.

I agree with Designer - both have possibilities. As you have them now, the "horizon" cuts both images about in half. Since the sky is featureless, I would crop most of the sky out and give more importance to the desert part of the image. The colour also seems a bit warm to me - were they shot during the "golden" hours?
