If that's a gator, I'd be a lot less casual about it than they are!

I hope that's not a gator in the foreground.

Sure looks like one...

Thanks. The first time I saw one swimming around with it's little eyes exposed I thought it was a juvenile gator but upon closer inspection I saw it had a shell like a turtle but I'd never seen a turtle with such a long neck so I researched it and found out it's a called a Florida softshell turtle. I almost never see them out of the water.

My wife convinced me it was a gator, I thought it might be a turtle, I even showed her pictures of the long necked guys, but she persuaded me....just like Adam and Eve I tell ya! :BangHead:

Based on how narrow the "nose" is, I would have guessed it was a gharial except they come from India.

I think it has been on "Nature" on PBS lately where they film various animals with camera-equipped, robotic animals to get up close. Between the gorillas and the giant tortoises, there's a LOT of flatulence in nature...

She should work for the CDC to help convince people that masks not designed to filter a virus are effective at filtering a virus.

I was only seeing this on a small screen tablet, but something didn't look right. I've had a few up close and personal encounters with Fl gators in kayak. Now that on the big screen I see the head, I didn't even notice it before. Wow what a long neck they have. Never seen one before, all I ever saw were the Gopher Tortoises down there.

They can be elusive with only the heads protruding from the water most of the time, kind of like how gators do when they're still, and they also tend to swim rather quickly in a crisscross pattern as they scout for food.
