My grandfather once told me that photography was like playing the trumpet, the more you practice the better you get. I have been trying to take my camera out daily here lately. I don't always bring home "good" photographs. But every day I learn something. These are a couple I took today while I was out goofing off at a local park.






No, your eyes do NOT deceive you... that is in fact a tree spray painted with a bikini. It is weird sort of landmark in the area. It's tucked back in the corner of a local park. For at least the last 25-30 years (since I was a kid) it has gotten a new paint job every year with a different pattern. I don't know who does it, but rumor mill has it that it is part of the pledge process for a sorority at the nearby university.

I can see the second shot in HDR. The others would probably do better under normal, overcast conditions since the pipelines and the tree are the main focus.
