What's new

Just to be fair, sensitive and open minded.

OT- Bitter... I had a dream I was in some huge online fight with you (I have have no idea what over). I've been dreaming about some really weird stuff the past couple of days and apparently you were the star of the one I had last night. :lmao:

You know you spend too much time on TPF when... :biglaugh:

Cute. erose86 and the bitter one are hijacking a thread. Telling the accuser that others are spammers that she is having dreams about him. Spam if there ever was it.

You sir, have some serious issues.

Take a pill.

ROFLMHO! Maybe you and ero need to get a room and leave the forum to photography discussions.

Why can't we be friends... why can't we be friends?

my photobucket is filled with crap. I posted a lot of edits. I use photobucket strictly to link images. I never use the album and give it to somebody to show my portfolio. So I do what Sobolik did. Nothing is wrong with that.

I can't even fathom how I'm supposed to post an edited shot of someone else's to the net without having my own image host account or net space

My photobucket is full of odd things and stuff:

OT again. Tyler, your avatar reminds me of Rob Thomas.

I am going to explore the site right now. Thanks

But I remember others chastising people for posting links and not the photos -- so?

Just to be fair, sensitive and open minded.

There recently was a bit of objection to me (I suppose others)

a) Copying a photo requesting an edit\critique

b) Editing it with PP software and loading it on a hosting site (obviously under my account)

c) Linking to it while replying about it on this forum

Some of the objection was that I give no credit to what consider a fictitious made up forum poster screen name identity that no one in the world knows nor probably cares about.

The objector wanted me to delete their photos from my account (I don't even know if I did theirs as the OP was not them) Of course if deleted then any previous posts will link to nothing.

So What is a detailed procedure to satisfy those who may have this fear of theft thing?

Apparently posting a photo on this web site for the world to steal is OK
Posting a requested edit on a site for the world to steal is not OK

The way I see it the only alleviation to this theft fear is to never post a photo to begin with?

Again:

OH PS THERE WERE PM's GOING BACK AND FORTH AS WELL THAT READERS ARE NOT READING

I think the person who made the comment had a concern. I think it was a valid concern however my take on it was that it came from a point of view that did not have a full understanding of what can or cant happen on these open forums.

IMHO there was not need at all for the comments that followed, they were haughty, pompous pontifications that were completely uncalled for. They did nothing to engage the person in a meaniful manner.

If you dont want to be a helplful soul then say and do nothing, because what you do say is filled with a strong tone of nastiness and that nastiness seems to be going unchecked more often than not.

And I dont mind saying that when I am going along reading other threads I am stopped short by the snotty spirit so much so that it kills the thread for me. Its sniper fire. It needs to stop.

I don't know if I have enough cheese to compete with all this whine...

Sobo, are you a grown ass man/female? I've tried for a long time to read you... I just can't figure it out though. You have a blatant disregard for punctuation and grammar for the most part. While at the same time you claim to be a spectacular photographer that has very radical and illogical views when it comes to photography that would certainly (and has) discredited your claim of greatness. So what is it, are you a wild old coot with strange views, or a 17 year old kid that just trolls forums in your spare time?

Whatever it may be, you're dragging out a pretty ridiculous issue. It wasn't even the OP that questioned your hosting practices, it was a new guy. I can see where he was coming from, however. I wasn't familiar with whatever hosting site you used, and it said something like "Sobos **** photos" at the top. To someone casually browsing the net, and happening upon your page, they'd be under the impression that it was you who owned the copyrights to the image. Contextually in the thread it was clear that it was the OP's photo, and that they allowed people to edit their images.

He didn't approach you about it in a rude way, and you responded with fire. You wonder why people hate you? It's because you're a dingus a lot of the time.

I set my flickr to private, that way people dont accidentally find these pics on a search.

As for the original argument, I also agree that the whole things been way overblown. I will also say that if someone is displeased without having a credit line, that doesn't really equate to calling someone a thief. If National Geographic paid me a handsome sum of money for a shot for use on the cover but did not give me a credit line, I would be a little unhappy. However, that displeasure does not mean that I am insinuating National Geographic stole my pic or violated my copyright. In all fairness though, I think the other guys inquiry was misguided, because I assume all pics you edited were deemed allowable by their owner/poster.

My advice would be to keep your folders private, and delete files after the thread has died off. Other than that, who cares.
