It is a great shot.
And a perfect example of why you "need" a high frame rate. The difference between a good shot and a fantastic shot can be quite small and something very much like the eye being visible in this case.

Thank you all for the replies and the looks! I have to admit though that this was not the original orientation of the bird. I took liberties and rotated it for the title, because it just seemed a funny edit with the title.
