I revisited the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort earlier this month. Here are some of my favorites from my visit (which included both the Old and the New buildings). I have included a couple from my previous visit a decade ago.
- One of the most impressive scenes of any of the state capitols IMO...this corridor is longer than a football field and is lined by 36 columns of one-piece Vermont granite!
-Kentucky State Senate Chamber
- Marble staircase
- Entrance to the rotunda of the Old Kentucky State Capitol
- Colonel Harland Sanders started Kentucky Fried Chicken after age 65.
- This 14-foot tall bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln (1909) stands in the rotunda of the capitol
- Self-supporting double staircase of limestone in the Old Kentucky State Capitol
- Another view of the great corridor of the Kentucky State Capitol building...the Senate chamber is on one end and the House chamber on the other
- Kentucky House of Representatives Chamber
- Inner dome and cupola of the Old Kentucky State Capitol
- Inner dome of the Kentucky State Capitol--the dome changes colors every few seconds

Thanks for looking...
