A few look a bit soft, and a few have some blown highlights (hard to avoid in those lighting conditions, trust me I know).

#6 is by far my favorite.

They're wearing head gear but kicking with street shoes, that seems a little odd. Looks like fun though, do you ever take shots at Madtown Throwdown?

The shoes LOOK like street shoes, but they're actually approved specialty martial arts/kickboxing padded shoes akin to having boxing gloves on the feet.

Madtown Throwdown- no, never shot one of those. That's MMA, right? I'm actually out of Minneapolis, so the 90 miles to Eau Claire is generally as far as I go. I wouldn't be opposed to going further, say Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago etc, but the promoters would have to pony up gas money, lodging costs and my actual pay for that to happen, and I don't know of any promoters that are willing to part with that kind of money for photography. I was asked by a Chicago promotion who was holding a tournament to come shoot, but they wanted me to make my own sales and give THEM a cut. 800 mile round trip with gas well over $3 a gallon and I pay you? Think again.

Yup, yeah these smaller fights seem to be on a huge budget. I noticed some of the shoes to be martial arts shoes but I swear the guy kicking and knocking the other guy out is wearing Adidas I have in my closet. These are pretty awesome shots, your ISO I have to imagine is pretty high like 1600? I like the first one, it remind me of my first time sparring when I got hit in the gut and went down something fierce, those stomach shots are the worst.

I could tell they were padded shoes.....but I never liked concussions and always fought with foot pads and head padding.

With the varying types of pads I see is it fighter discretion?
