Spent a nice sunny afternoon along a trail near home today, and came away with this sequence of a male ruby-crowned kinglet having lunch. These little guys almost never sit still, but they do have to slow down to eat... This one landed on a twig about 20 feet away from me in perfect light, and proceeded to nosh on a fly he'd caught. Had no qualms about the whole "dine 'n' dash" thing, though... :D

They remind me of our yellow warblers. Very pretty little bird and a good set.

    Excellent set.

That background is a fantastic colour. I'd put a feeder just in front and a bit lower so all the birds would pause on that branch prior to feedings.
Would make for an excellent bird portrait studio.
