I love this photo of my cat as a kitten but what could I have done to take this photo from just a snap to a great photo?

Hope you dont mind but I messed around with the image in my mobile Photoshop app. Mostly changed a few things like white balance, contrast etc. Cute cat by the way.

darken darks, tweek highlights, de-saturate yellow, pump up some green, a little crop ... my cat Lucky approves of this message.

Now you have two versions that improve your image. You can do this yourself with whatever software you have. Experiment with your images until you get something you like [emoji3]
