Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
When I went to the balloon festival recently, in addition to my Nikon, I also carried a Kodak EasyShare P880 digital camera. It's maybe in semi-prosumer range and offers a great deal of manual controls. It also offers shooting in RAW, which I did that evening.

Trouble is, that RAW format is proprietary with a .kdc file type. I didn't know that at the time. I tried to open the files in GIMP, but that didn't work.

Has anyone out there experienced this for themselves, and if so, how'd you handle it?

Thank you,
-William

Have a look at DNG I only speak canon but I know DNG is meant to be universal
I think it’s still free

Adobe has a small software application that is free to download. It is called Adobe DNG Converter, and it works very well. It will convert your Kodak raw files into .dng
Format and therefore they will easily be viewable/editable in many different software applications.
