Labor Day Legos

My son got the Castle set from Lego for his 9th birthday and rather than spending money at the zoo and fighting the Labor Day crowd we stayed home and worked on the set as a family. It took us several hours but we knocked it out and it's pretty cool. I also picked up a new Nikon 35/1.8 that I wanted to try out so I figured I'd grab some shots along the way. I was really impressed with how sharp the lens is. The detail it captured in the king's cape is superb. All in all I'd say today was a win-win.

We just got this for my son (he's 7). . . and he's yet to have the motivation to build it. I'm thinking either hubby or I will need to help him. Looks fun. Great shots!

Diggin' the SpongeBob! I bet your son would have a lot of fun with the Castle. I want the dragon set to go with it. We have to keep my mom away from his new sets or she'll finish them first.
