Lady Bug Climbing a Straw

Man, I really liked these :P

I don't care about softness - evoked feelings are more important.

Thanks though :)

You might want to reconsider that remark because for me, soft in these images equates to not focusing correctly due to not having the right equipment or having the right equipment and missing the focus. Either way, in almost all the images it causes this viewer to scrunch up his nose and think to himself...hmmmmm, too soft, then go immediately to the next set of images by someone else.

How can I say this without sounding defensive and arrogant...

If people wants to constantly worry about slightly soft images, they may do so. I think, however, there is more to photography and art than "technically perfect". "Too perfect, and everything becomes boring", some people say. Still, I appreciate you for pointing it out.

Sometimes, though, the photographer is happy with the results, thus the focusing was indeed "correct".

You can have sharp images which will evoke an emotional response....and, in your defense, I have seen several OOF images which were made deliberately so which really got my attention but they were more abstract in nature than not. I certainly wouldn't allude to you that doing images this way is wrong, but I also wouldn't expect more positive than negative responses, either. I like being happy with my work but I like getting paid for it more than being happy.
