Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Yes, I took some serious shots too :) It was a fun challenge adjusting the lighting to seperate her from the background.

Who knew Christmas could be so sexay?
How did you get so lucky?

Great job with the lighting. The black border adds a little too much over head for me, since it blends in a bit. I think if the grey line were lighter I'd prefer that. The border also makes the background look a touch blue and not deep enough; not a true black.

--edit--
The border makes it stand out, I mean.

Can't be disappointed with a picture of yours, and your wife is such a wonderful subject :) Looking forward to more of your work.

Thanks you two. Mark, I see what you mean about the border. I just threw that on real quick before posting.

I am very lucky, yes, and I don't know how, but it's great :)

wow great shot matt... i really like the red and black, and the slight red glow behind works well i think... was that a seperate red light or was that part of the post processing? love your portrait work

Thanks Arch. The wall behind is red. I have a large round softbox as the key light, which is off to our right, and another strobe at a 45 degree angle behind her to our right, defining the edge. The left side has a 24" reflector resting on a chair, to add a small amount of fill. Also on the chair is another strobe, pointed at the background just adding a splash of light. I added soft vignetting in photoshop, as I do to most of my photos, which gives the background light more of a spotlight feel. I do plan to get a honeycomb grid someday soon, so I can focus the background light more.

wicked shot. I should really look into that whole lighting bussines sometime. Got the lights at home, but never really used them. But shots like these makes me wanna take out the lamps and try.................not that it would come close to this shot. But you have to start somewhere eh :)
Anyways, great shot

Your work is inspiring to say the least Matt. The lighting in this is absolutley perfect, I can imagine it was fun to set up. :D

Good work as always.

Eric.
