What aspect would you like CC? If a general CC, I don' t like the background. It lacking any creativity. The stances are nice but there's no action in the frame to make it interesting. She's simply posing in a fighting strance, for what reason? Other than for you to photograph her? See where I'm going?

Lady Trieu is a Vietnamese histrorical heroine who fought off the chinese invasion. I thought about going to the park, but I have to pay $100 dollars permit. I just thought the mid gray background would be better off.

I would say that #3 is pretty out of focus, and #6 I think it was is also out of focus. I like the costume, and she's pretty. I think shots 2,3,and 8 should show the floor. As shown, they feel incomplete without the floor being in the shots.

I think that shot #7 (and #8 also) shows a classic lighting mistake: DUAL shadows of the subject on the background, from two lights set up basically opposing one another. Not a good way to light.

I cropped the floor because was barefooted.

I like the concept but the lighting isn't working for me. Something like this could really use a much more dramatic lighting style, what you have here looks pretty flat IMO.

Would barefoot have been a problem? I think that including the feet, even bare, might have been better than just cropping them off. It makes her feel incomplete.

The background is pretty clean, apart from a few shadows, so I'm sure you could easily extract her and maybe place her in a more dramatic background, maybe with some dramatic editing on her as well.

Interesting set. I used to be a fan of Chinese sword fighting comics. And the poses in this set are quite a throwback to those days.

I'd like to point out the hotspots present on the model's face in several occasions. Due to moisture? Perhaps taking care of those before each shot (or possibly even during post processing) could yield better results.

I'm also curious why you attribute the out of focus shots to your cropping. Do share. Keen to learn. Cheers.

The lighting really isn't helping to dramatize the series, its too flat for something as dramatic as a sword fight. As mentioned above, probably a more dramatic approach to lighting would've suited the pictures.

Also, her face seems too oily which is causing the hotspots. (I havent done much in fashion photography, but i recently learnt that theres special make-up available for use under flashlights)

The color temperature varies in the pictures.

The subject is great, but the pictures aren't doing her much justice.

I shot these in the garage. I guess she was pretty warm and sweating. I would have shot in the night. My lens is a kit lens, maybe that is the factor of the pictures not sharped, or the auto-focus issue.
