i wet to purchase a tripod the other day and on the way to the store i was thinking the sun will look good on the way back a bit when its a bit lower, as it happeed the sun did a runner by the time i returned, i still took a few shots, they were not very good but we all have to start somewere. so number 1 is the original, nothing special, number 2 is the same picture after playing with the curves in ps (to which im also a beginner) anyone want to have a go at making it better?

I like the first one - just one dust spot to get rid of. I has some nice silhouette qualities to it and it conveys, to me, a sort of "end of day" feeling. The only thing that I might do is to see if I couldn't increase the contrast in the sky, just a bit and lighten up the foreground. The second one spoils the mood I feel you created in the first one - way too much red. This one (#1) might also be a candidate for a black and white conversion.

I am not that knowledgable in Photoshop, so I will not make any attempt to improve on what you have.

thank you, ive never attempted landscape or wanted to, but since getting my dslr i want to take photos of everything!
