Thanks, the light and weather conditions were unusually painterly on this afternoon: a photographer's dream!

The post I left in for a few reasons: it helps to gage the scale and particularly for me, sine this was taken using MF set at infinity, the depth. I had a few problems recently getting the AF to fix on what I wanted and came to the conclusion it might be good to practice using MF occasionally. The WB was auto here but everything else was manual (SquarePeg's challenges have got me out of my lazy ways it seems). But other than that, my only tool for removing things is the retouch button in iPhoto, which was fine to remove some birds close to the church tower that looked like specs of dust at this distance, but not up to being rid of the pole without leaving some smudging (in my hands anyway!).
