What's new

Late autumn in the Rocky mountains

Welcome aboard. Great photos, thanks for sharing.

Being an Edmontonian, I have a natural contempt for Calgary, but I'm very jealous of how close it is to the mountains.
I love the canoes on Lake Louise...not just for how nice it looks, but for how rare it must be to find that shot. AFAIK, they don't ever leave canoes out in the water like that overnight.

Thanks, Mike. Yeah, it is kinda hard to find an opportunity to shoot these canoes like that, I guess the staff just made a mistake or something. I was actually waiting for sunrise that morning but the heavy clouds did not let it happen, luckily it turned out to result in tranquility somehow.

I have a shot of Lake Louise with just one canoe...and it's a nice looking wooden one, not those red fiberglass ones. I didn't realize it at the time, but it's actually hard to get shots like that because it's usually so busy once the tour buses start rolling in around 9:00 or 10:00am.
And of course, you have to get there pretty early to get nice still water like you have in your shot.
