Lead Finger!? Where do you store your photos?!

So much like driving with a lead foot, I have a lead finger, i love shooting tons of shots and picking out the best ones... however when taking pictures of my kids, its routine that I get about 100-300 shots per shooting. I can't bare to delete a majority of them and usually wind up deleting only the bad ones, blurry or not looking.

so i ask you, my HD is getting full fairly quick! what do you do with all your photos?!

I have a ThinkPad! i don't use a desktop!

Hard drives are cheap cheap cheap cheap, and getting cheaper cheaper cheaper cheaper every day.

Everthing's been said: try to be a little more selective, maybe don't save all the .PSD files but only those you think you might want to retouch in the future, and buy a couple of external disks.

I am slowly but surely starting to take less pics, and keep less pics. Well, keep less in my "keep" folder. I still have not broken my habit of dumbing all my pics in teh "original" folder.

I have a 2Tb external hard drive. Plenty of room.

It is hard for us newbs...to learn to be selective and delete, but after talking to many photog's in the area, it's a must have discipline. Or you create not only a nightmare on your hard drive, but end up spending time post on photos you're not going to use anyway.

I don't keep mine because I know they are keepers...I keep them out of habit and lack of discipline. Working on it though.

i couldn't have said it better myself! that's exactly it.

Ideally the only photos I really throw away are missed focus or missed exposure. Good editing starts at exposure.

Grossly over- and under-exposed and OOF images are all I pitch. I never delete an image because for any other reason. There may be an element in that photo I can incorporate into another somewhere down the road.
