Wonderful detail. The highlights are OTT though. Try reducing Levels's white output down into the 240s.

I can us 3.5 or 8.0 aperture then I have to adjust the shutter speeds to try and get the right lighting. Did I mention it's a point and shoot? LOL, first digital I've owned and there is much for me to learn. Going to go online and figure out what the deal is with the settings.
The pic was taken near noon so I just missed the shots I guess. Here is the original, untouched.

I used some scripts for GIMP to remove the blue chroma aberration and purple fringing

(FastStone Image Viewer 'compare' window: your JPG/edited version)


I can post the script links for you tomorrow. Worth using for pictures made with this this lens I think.

Edited your picture. The highlights in the water-droplets are clipped for sure but I was able to tone things down/up a bit.

My camera has a setting for color mode and yesterday I made the desicion to run in standard color mode, as well as normal vs sharp. Seeing the comparison you have shown me I am now wondering if that was a factor.
I might try to duplicate the shot thursday.

Yes, if you do editing with software, try using the most neutral settings in camera. Sharpening is better done with software rather then in-camera (if you can turn it off). experiment with exposure compensation (or spot-meter off the brightest highlights) to prevent blown highlights.

There was strong blue CA & purple fringing in this picture. If you fancy giving GIMP a go, these two are the script/plug-in you'll benefit from..
