Lens hood?

With my 14mm f2.8L I don't have that problem, but then I use the OEM hood that was designed for the lens. (To the OP.....Yes the OEM lens hoods cost more. There is a reason for that.)

I get pretty bad vignetting on my Canon 24-105 f/4L using the Canon hood, so bad that I stopped using it. You CAN get rid of it in post though using Adobe Camera RAW for example; but the edit has to be aggressive, and that lightens the rest of the image.

Sure you were putting it on the right way? It happens.

Yeah, Canon puts red markers (like with mounting lenses) to guide you, so it's hard to screw that up.

Right, you don't have that problem with your 24-70 f/2.8; I have that problem with my 24-105 f/4.
