lens question

i just got a zenitar fish eye for my canon camera. In the manual mode when i choose the shutter speed it wont autmatically set the apeture. Is this normal. If so i guess i cant use the built in light meter with this lens right?

Manual mode does not set either shutter or aperture automatically. If you want to set the shutter and have the camera determine aperture, you need shutter priority (Tv). For the other way around, aperture-priority (Av). With that lens, it's a little moot though, as I believe the aperture is set by the ring on the lens.

I've never had to do this, but this page has info on stop-down metering.
