Sometimes the most simple subject, can become interesting, or at least more interesting when using Black and White to enhance shadows or the mood itself...

Any thoughts?

What do you mean by the seats? More definition - Over Exposed?

Yeah, the thwarts (boat seats) are over exposed and are pure white. They've have lost all detail. For me, it would be worth taking again, but I like boats
If I were taking this, I'd take my spot reading off the thwarts and snap a shot then give a +1, +2 and +3 ev. If you simply used the setting on the camera, it will attempt to make those seats 18% gray which would be too dark for the reflection and you'd lose all shadows. I'm thinking +3 would be pretty close without blowing it out. Do final tweaking in post.

Sounds like a plan... This was taken with a BlackBerry Phone.... so spot reading or not, this is about as good as it is going to get until I can get a Real Camera one day
