What's new

lets play a game.

being able to express something through an art form. without having to draw it, ha. or when i get a compliment on one of my photos.

do you prefer black and white or color?

im a major fan of black and white.

Q: what is your favorite thing to shoot?

Love sun settings, older settings for black and white, lots of diffrent types of landscapes. some portraits, sports is what i mostly do. But my absolutely favorite thing to shoot must be Music.. bands. And the best time ive had was when i had the opertunity to shoot for "Dropout Year" there a bunch of cool, layed back, guys and there music is great.

Q: how did you start off in photography?

I just picked up my DRebel XT(first camera, yeah I know, when I start somehting, I do it big{what I mean is that most people don't get a $700 SLRas their first camera, or $700 at the time) and went out shooting, kept coming online looking for advice, found this forum and have grown ever since.

Q:What is your dream setup (camera body, lenses, filters, and computer for post processing)?

My dream set up is anything and everything i can get my hands on, I'll take it all

Q) where is your dream place to do a photo shoot?

The Sea or Tranquility, on the moon.

Q) If somebody offered to pay you $5000 for a celebrity casket shot (i.e. a dead famous person in the box) would you do it? If not, why not?

wow, really good question, um prob not, im a scardy-cat, simple as that.
dont like death. but of course the answer can always diffrent with cash in your face.

Q: what was your most awful experience ( flub up )at a shoot?

A: Having the shutter battery go dead on my Nikon FE during a most wonderful sunrise at a lighthouse, and forgetting that I could set the camera to mechanical 1/90th mode. Someone even had a light metre handy.

Q: What was your best ever experience?

A: When I got an award for one of my photographs at PPOCA (Professional Photographers of Canada Atlantic), in a contest where I was competing with professionals (I was only a student at the time, so this was a big deal :) )

Q: Who is your favorite photographer, and how have they inspired you?

Q: Who is your favorite photographer, and how have they inspired you?

A.
I think my favorite photographer is David Williams, who I was thrilled to have an "Almost One on One" seminar with. (Only 8 of us).
He's a master photog from Australia, and a Kodak master, Royal Academy, 10 Best in the World winner.

He was super nice, hated "brands", and had all these genious ways of doing things without "proper" lights, "brand" lenses, or "fancy" studios.

He did a one on one critique of my work, simultaneously uplifting and encouraging me more than any person ever has, and giving me the best upper level tips and tricks I could ever hope to know. He nit picked me in an inspiring way.

Q. What was that first "special" photo, where you knew that you were destined for photography?

A: I think that might have been photographing my first girlfriend at the field of dreams, in Iowa.... ( I borrowed my fathers old Pentax...)

Q: What is the farthest you've traveled to shoot a scene? (Landscape, cityscape etc.)

Off topic. I wanna see the field of dreams photo!

The farthest I've traveled with the intention to take photos was about 50 miles, to an air show at a small airport. Using a short lens, I'm still doing editing to try to make them look decent. :)

Q: Have you ever been injured on a photoshoot?

A: Had an elbow to the head at a concert once, slipped on ice and got bruised up a different time, was kicked in the neck by an oblivious friend flying through the air while I laid on a couch, haha. And my gear is still in one piece!

Q: What is the wackiest improvisation you have ever made on a shoot?
