Had my daughter play around with some light sticks. CC welcome. Suggestions for more long exposure fun?

nice! I just posted a similar thread :D

Love the colors! The last one is my favorite. I have worked a little bit with laser light that is fun.

glow in the dark superball... or you could always tape the glow stick to a cats tail (J/K)

Your photos look like something out of the recent "Tron" movie. Cool stuff!

Like the colors, I tried something like this but with sparkles and just had one tone of light, it makes me want to try something like this.
Love number 4
You can try attaching them to strings so they can turn them around while moving in circles or tying them on hula-hoops (really don’t know if this is the name in English) I think this would make a great shot

They're nice! I experimented a bit with light art photography for the first time the other day. Im more into "drawing" stuff though. Ive seen some amazing videos in youtube where the guys keep drawing, but it's actually a video so you can see them going around... would like to know how they do that.

Thanks...you've encouraged me to continue experimenting. In number 4, we were throwing the light sticks, back and forth...toward and away from the camera. #2 was an attempt at a smiley face...she ran out of time.

....this may be the first time I've wanted a cat....that is hilarious DxAxN!

#4 for me!

number 4 is my favorite as well. This is one of my grandkids favorite things to do, but we've only done it with one color. I love all the different colors, we have to try that. Something I'd thought of was to have the kids stand to either side, just out of frame, and see if they could throw them back and forth to each other. We found you can make them spin if you throw them right. You'd have to have several so you could make sure and keep them going. Catching glowing things in the dark, if nothing else the kids would think that was fun. :)

Personally, I really like the first one. What's funny, I was talking about this the other day with a lady that came into the store, and she mentioned this. It didn't even cross my mind to even try something like this. =P Now that I see the examples, it's pretty cool!

Maybe you could first flash at the beginning of the exposure to get a clear image of your daughter and then ask her to wave the wands.
I tried a few of those with my Canon Powershot S3IS (semi-compact) with my son. You could find lots of faults in them, they are my first steps in this direction
Here they are:
