Lightning storm

Here's what I think is the best of a small group of acceptable shots I got the other night during a pretty spectacular storm that rolled though the area.



Any insights or pointers into how to better capture this sort of thing?

higher f/stop. Lower ISO. Set to bulb, use a tripod and remote. Well composed, which is unusually difficult for lightning shots.

Thanks. Now to wait for the next storm...shouldn't be long this time of year.

I did eventually go to a higher aperature later on...but never even thought to get out the tripod...DOH!

As you can probably guess, all were handheld while I tried to guess where to look next...of course the next strike is always everywhere BUT where you're looking.
