As per popular request - by two members 
- my this year's lilac photos, which don't make me overly happy, but ...
1.
This is the view I have from out of my study window towards the garden side (there is another window pointing to the street), and you can see our lilac (brighter in colour) and the neighbour's bush (darker in colour), which is immediately behind the fence
2.
This is some playing around with focus at a relatively small DOF ...

And a photo of the white lilac in our garden (but not in the immediate view out of my study window)

Two relatively close close-ups of our lilacs, photos taken about a week apart (ours are past their prime these days)

And two more closer-up pics of the neighbour's lilacs, which may well stay on for a little longer than ours.
