#1.. never cut the mane / ridge off an equine
#2 looks like your AF picked up the glass you were shooting through?
#3 OOF and can't see the head hardly at all.... need eyes or good profile to connect to shot
#4 loss of detail.. can't see eyes...

1) i was getting the sad look on her face, not her entire front half.
3) I had to shoot through a couple of trees to see her, there was no good shot of it..
4) The penguin was about 5-6ft over my head, can't get eye level shots..

#1 (Anthropomorphism) - what you perceived as a sad look is that poor zebra knowing that there would be a picture of it floating around the internet for years, with no mane! If you were after the face, why didn't you shoot it vertical?
