Listed land

So there is a beautiful small chunk of land down the road with some nice flowers and I am going to take some outdoor portraits of some friends soon. But the land is listed for sale by a realty company.. Would it be okay to take photos out there? Do you have any general rules you follow when going to other locations like this?

Yes, I do. I obtain permission from the property owner before I set foot on the property.

Regardless of the listing, ask for permission. But when you explain why you are there and show a little respect and decency (ask for permission, don't expect it), it's amazing what you can get. I've asked for permission on property with multiple "No Trespassing" signs and they were more than happy to let me walk around when I explained what I would appreciate being able to do. What's the worst that can happen if you ask? They say no. Contrary to popular belief, it really doesn't hurt so bad to hear that.
