Saw these things on my walk after work. I like the way the sun made it pop.

interesting colors and angle............contrast is a bit too high for my taste. Maybe add some fill light in PP.

I tend to lean toward contrasty images. I tinkered with it in LR to add in some fill, but decided to leave it as I saw it, which is what caught my eye, rather than alter it. The sun situation was that of great contrast. My whole set tonight is quite contrasty as that is the time of day I got out and about. lol

Thanks.

I like contrast in colors, and black and whites. Otherwise too much contrast annoys me. lol

got this one too. very contrasty and dark, but kinda matches the mood I was in, and wanted a more "painterly" look as well. Not a good image by any means...but I found it a tad interesting enough not to delete.

I like the water shot. Did you get the painterly feel in PP or did you use a longer exposure?

Slow shutter speed for the smoothing effect, focal point on the rocks at stopped down aperture to keep it good and sharp while smooth at same time, around 1/10 sec @ f/16 iso 200, then in LR I just downed exposure a bit (I over exposed a bit on purpose to get this effect later in pp when I brought it back down...helps on the noise control), then upped clarity a ton and adjusted lights/shadows options in tone curve section for desired contrast effect. I think that's all. lol. oh, and upped vibrance to around 30 or so to bring out blues more.

lots of thought/effort in a silly photo, but it's good practice for later this season when I make it out to the coast.

also, I used the raw image in LR for better control over tone curves. Had I used the jpg, there would have been artifacting all over the place. just fyi in case you want to heavily process an image...it's best to use the raw data than the jpg from camera.

LOVE the water shot! :D
