Locust

I am very interested in macro photography - and have dabbled a bit with it by just using my Canon Power Shot SX 20 It has a 20X 100MM zoom on it, so it allows a little bit of flexibility for how to do close up details, but I am finding it's not enough. To get pics like the one I am enclosing; I have to get too close to the subject most of the time, and I just end up scaring it away. lol So its back to the drawing board for me on this. What do you guys think of this shot? I am going to get a Nikon digital camera of some kind. Any feedback on the enclosed pic, and what kind of Nikon I would need for similar, but with improvement?
