London trip canceled, just wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions.

The government shut down caught us: all week we weren't sure we'd get to go, but packed anyhow. Friday at 9:15, the big boss gave the go-ahead to attend the conference, we raced to the airport, and headed out. While we were waiting for our Chicago to London flight, the boss' boss decided to cancel the trip because it didn't look like the budget would pass. So we paid a small fortune in rebooking fees, spent the night in a hotel, and flew home this morning. Of course the budget did pass, but letting us go now would make it look like the second boss made the wrong decision. (Duh!)

Anyhow, I'm bummed, but wanted to say thanks to everyone who tried to help. I'll save the notes and hope we go to go to the one in 2013.
