I like the sign -- very interesting, and makes me wonder what happened there.

However, the overall photo is very grey -- it took me a while to see the road, and the field, and distinguish them from the grass. You could probably do well by bumping the contrast a bit, or maybe recomposing to make the road a bit more prominent.

I think that the B/W conversion is not good, it's too gray. I don't see the white in this picture. It's missing something. Give it light!
Give us the color version, because maybe there's too few native contrast in the scene that you're taking and this doesn't help for a black and white conversion.
