Long-toed Salamander

We found this little guy in Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba, Canada. They are endangered in parts of Canada, and we were so lucky to spot him/her, along with several dozen more, making their annual migration across a highway in rural Manitoba.

Oh my gosh, you are right. I am sorry. It is a tiger salamander. I just spent last weekend learning more about the Jefferson salamander and the long-toed salamander and mixed them all up. Yikes!

My kids found two of them at school and we kept them as pets for the past few years. When I saw the photo, I thought that it looked a lot like ours.
