Looking for a fast wide-angle Prime lens for Canon.

I'm on a fairly limited budget, and I'd like to get a relatively cheap(est) lens. I was looking at the dirt cheap 50mm from Canon, but I'd like a wider angle. I'm open to third-party as long as it's a quality lens. Suggestions?
