Looking for advice, New to Forum

The articulating screen and live view make it so much easier for children photos. My grandchildren range from 6 months to 7 years old. Getting photos on their level would require laying on the floor without an articulating live view screen. Then there are the insect and flower macros. I still use the viewfinder Sony A700 for birds, landscapes ETC., but the A77 is the go-to camera for the low shots. I can also see overhead shots in crowds like we used to do with the twin lens reflex.

The A77 is also weather sealed magnesium body. The bodies are about 800 new and if you look around usually you can get the vertical grip for free, which is like a 300 dollar option. Boom you got yourself a great body for pretty cheap.

Well, I made my decision and ordered a refurbished Nikon D5200. It was a difficult decision and I appreciate everyone's input. Thank you all for your help. Now it's just a matter of deciding which lenses I need and how much I can afford lol. It comes with an 18-55 kit lens and I also ordered a fairly inexpensive 200mm zoom (also refurbished). What's a decent lens for macro shots without breaking the bank?

Congrats on buying a fantastic camera.
As for Macro which is reasonably you have mainly one choice which is the Nikon 40mm 2.8G Macro
I dont know much about this lens but I am sure its a good lens.
I personally own the Nikon 60mm 2.8G but it cost about double the price of the 40mm
