Hi there. I shoot lots of guitar pedals (and every other guitar thing you can imagine) every day. For basic product lighting a couple of 300ws or 400ws strobes with 24-30" softboxes will cover the majority of situations and allow you to experiment and get comfortable with using them before jumping into anything more expensive.
