While I like the first, I REALLY like the 2nd. Nice job on both though.

What are the little black vertices streaks I am seeing on the horizon? Almost looks like scratches.

hahaha!!! You have a nice eyesight!! In the second picture there are two small vertical black lines. I didn't take them out with Photoshop because they are very tiny. Those black lines are two buoys to measure oceanography variables.

Very nice job. In both pictures it looks like something rising up from under the ocean. I really like that effect.
