Great shot, David. I have a hard time getting that close to them as they are nesting in a dead tree that's 16 feet or so off the lake. Even with a fast shutter, the rocking of the boat doesn't allow for that nice, crisp focus like you got on this guy...both envious and jealous but curbed nicely by admiring your photography skills. Many Kudos!!!

Thank You BD,this guy let me walk right in on him with the intention it would take off and try to catch him in flight so kept the shutter speeds up go figure he never moved. I guess we get as close as we can,get what we can never can predict wildlife,when you want them to fly they don't and when you want them to stay the fly sometimes.Thanks for the kind words. BTW I never did photography from boats but been boating before on the ocean and smaller boats you really can get knocked around on the water even hard to stand sometimes let alone with the camera so yes boating and photography I imagine is whole different world then standing on beach sand and grass.
