Low flight of the Pelican

I'm adding this more because I was just impressed with myself for catching the image. Pelicans aren't the most beautiful things up close, but it's amazing to watch them fly.

This was last weekend at Bonita Beach Florida and I caught this with my 7D with 100 - 400 lens. Any comments are appreciated.

Sadly it looks like you caught the wing instead of the eye as the sharp in focus part - but its not that far out - you might find that with some effort and selective sharpening that you might be able to bring the eye and face just a little more in focus to help the photo.

And for a photo capturing action as good as this (no blur; bright shot; nice warm light; really low gliding flight) I would consider the effort in that more than warrented

I like always like watching the "squadrons" of pelicans flying up and down the beach when I get the chance to be there. There not many more graceful flyers than pelicans. I also like how you can see bits and pieces of the reflection in this shot.
