Photos NOT OK to edit
I all for abuse and critique--as long as constructive not just tear down...but here's another image for your destruction. This was taken at a wedding and has a very unique appeal to it I think--its extremely low light and high ISO. 3200 I believe. There was some post processing but not much--

to me it's just out of focus.
It doesnt grab me by the balls so to speak

LOL...yea it appears like that, but the rings and fingertips are in focus completely--the High ISO tends to blur and sometimes cause chromatic abberations. Would you like the original RAW file to play with yourself?

The rings don't look in focus to me, or my second opinion over my shoulder. She doesn't think they're in focus either.

Like others have said, it's OOF. Not much you can do about that now... I'd trash the picture, personally.

For me it has no appeal what so ever, maybe if his eys were in it but i doubt it, i don't even know what he is doing, one for the recycle bin

Besides the focus issue, I'm not loving the image. It seems to be about his (unshaven) upper lip, as much as it's about the rings. The hands are OK, but not great...but then there is a thumb coming out of the side of the frame. The top half of the frame is an OOF nose...which doesn't add anything positive to the image.

I get that this might have been a nice moment and you took advantage of some good (but not great) ambient light. But it's too tight to get a sense of the moment and it's too loose (and OOF) to really emphasize the rings.

Back inside curve of the one ring is sharp. I like the idea and what you are going for on this, but like has been said the unshaven looked doesn't help. The image just misses, I would try it again though.

Agreed the back of one ring is in focus, but the front (where everyone is looking) is just out of focus. Also when one looks at the persons face the details there which are in focus look to be softer than I'd expect (ps I know people like to be all soft and stuff but it looks more like you've got slight motion blur than edited softness). I would also say that the thumb on the left side is distracting as it appears without any connection (within the photo) to the rest of the shot.

I will say that I like the idea of this shot and that I think it is worth trying to improve on the technique and execution of the photo. An idea to work with, just not quite there yet.

The idea is right, but too many small elements haven't worked.

Yeah, looks pretty soft and does absolutely nothing for me. It's not abstract enough tobe considered artistic and not straight-forward enough to be understood. Is he smelling the rings?

I think I see what you like about this image. The initial impression is intriguing and unique, but right after that, it just goes downhill. The first impression I sort of liked it, but that only lasted about 3/4 of a second, and now the longer I look at it, the less I like it. It either need more or less information.
