Lunar Halo - Anyone else see it?!

So last night my sister and I were a bit scared because we thought we saw someone in our field next door... Turns out it was a budding tree... BUT then I looked up and saw this awesome ring around the moon, Lunar Halo!

So neat...

My grandpa said that meant it would rain within 3 days. Not sure if I ever paid any attention to see if it was true or not.

I believe it means there are ice crystals in the earth's atmosphere and the light from the moon bounces off and creates this halo effect.

Yes, he said the ice crystals were 'moisture' and would result in rain within 1-3 days.
