There were some clear skies on Wednesday, so I set up the telescope to shoot M101. The galaxy is situated near the last two stars in the handle of the Big Dipper (Ursa Major). I had to heavily process the data to get a usable image out of it. Viewed large the quality of the image falls apart. There was a lot of light pollution to contend with that night and I didn't have the right filter to use for it. If I had more time imaging it, I could have produced a much better image. However, the cloud Gods decided they would obscure the target early...

Telescope: Celestron 8" EdgeHD SCT w/ .7x focal reducer
Celestron AVX go to mount
21 x 120 sec exposures
42 Minutes total integrated exposure time
Calibrated with darks, flats, and bias frames
Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker
Processed in PS and LR
