M42 screw mount lens adapter for EOS - 50mm f1.4

I just purcased a Asahi Pentax Spotmatic with a beaut Super -Takumar 50mm f1.4 lens for $35 CDN.

Then went to ebay and bought a M42 screw mount adapter to fit the lens to my EOS Rebel XT.

The adapter was .99p and after shipping the total came to $18 canadian. So I got a 50mm f1.4 for $53 CDN.

The canon 50mm f1.4 goes for $500CDN

The only drawback is a lack of f-stop readout in the viewfinder and no AF. But I can still use the shutterspeed dial and set on manual to get a proper exposure.

It rocks!

I also bought one of these adapters to use my old Pentax lenses on my Rebel XT. It works good, but I'd rather have an AF Zoom lens, so I sold my Pentax lenses.

doh! too late fer me :lmao: i think i still got a good deal...I've seen them on ebay for 30$ USD buy it now price.

Anyone know where I can get a hood for the Pentax 50mm above? Was one made?
