Macro filters?

Am wondering if you can use macro filters (+1 +2 +3 +10, anyone of those) on a 35-80mm EF Canon lens. Basically wondering if these filters would have a macro effect on a non-macro lens.

Yes, that's what they are made for. If you had a real macro lens, you wouldn't need the diopter filters in the first place.

The close-up filters do work, but the image quality will typically not be as good as a real macro lens.
