Macro lenses make good portrait lenes y/n?

I like my 105 2.8G macro lens, lovely bokeh and fast focus. Mine doesn't rack through the focus range when doing stuff like portraits because it has a limit focus switch which limits the focus range so it doesn't rack through the whole focus range.

right, Canon (and probably most other brands) have a limit switch for faster focusing in non-macro situations

Obviously macro lenses wont be as good as specialized portrait lenses. Otherwise why would such specialized portrait lenses even exist ?

Portrait lenses like the Canon EF 85mm f1.2 or the Nikon AF-S 85mm f1.4 are usually the lenses which have the most creamiest Bokeh of all lenses for that system. To my best knowledge, thats the main reason why they are considered the best portrait lenses for their respective system.

And how good an individual macro lens is for portraits depends upon the macro lens. The Tamron 90mm f2.8 VC macro for example is nicknamed "portrait macro" by some, since its Bokeh is considered pretty good.
