macro lenses or extention tube?

I have Sony nex 5 camera with 15-55 lens.
The taking pictures of beetles under 2 cm looks little difficult, I am feeling that I need more equipment and I discovered two options, macro lenses or extension tube. Anyone can suggest what could be better options?

If you have five C-notes, you should be able to find a macro lens. Maybe even one priced to where you can get a set a basic tube to boot.
