Second, maybe showing a bit of rubber instead of cloth for the tourniquet? Since that's what's more often used. And the dollar needs to be more visible. Is there a clear side to the syringe? Sometimes flicking the vein or flexing the muscle will make it pop more clearly.

Flicking the vein? Is this from experience, lol? It's not the lighting - it just wasn't "popping". If I was a junkie, I'd have to shoot up in my forearm - that's the only place I could reliably find a vein.

It is, actually, but it's more innocent than it sounds I apparently have tough veins to find and I've had nurses flicking my arm in the area where they would stick the needle in. The vein would either pop more or be more visible - not sure. It seemed to work, though. And as I'm thinking about it, maybe that redness around the entry point of the needle would add to the story, make it seem like it's not the first time the needle's gone in.

Now I'm having flash backs to the time my doctor stuck that needle in 3 or 4 times before she found the vein...*shudder*
