Photos OK to edit
Hi everybody, I finally had the time to try what I call "Make It Rain" and IMO came out good. Please let me know what do you all think and what can be improved.

The first two photos were try outs and the two last ones are the final product. There's not a whole lot of photoshop on them other than cropping and a bit of lower brightness.

I don't think the rain works well in the first three photos. The long shutter speed making it blur, esp in the first just looks odd to me for these photos. But kudos for trying something creative! The focus looks soft on the first tree, and completely off target on the last.

#1 The colors do not come thru very well with the lighting; the tree on the side seems very intrusive
#2 I do like how the light caught on the water, but again, the color of the flowers is too dull; again, the trees aren't working
#3 Nice colors, bad trees!
#4 Nice colors again. The focus is off; the OOF bloom right in the front I'm assuming to be your subject, and it was missed.

Yeah #1 and #2 are definitively as I said try outs. What I was trying to achieve with the trees was making a separation of two sides, as you can see it's raining only where the flower is but no rain in my side. Maybe not a good idea :/
On #4 I focused on the water drop right on the center, I called that picture "After The Rain". Thanks for the tips
i like the last two :)
:-P

The rain motion lines you captured are very cool........your subjects not so much!! Nice job thinking outside the box!! Keep shooting!!

Thanks Mishele, practice is all it takes right. OK now you can tell me how to get that same effect in your avatar. I browsed your threads and found out you haven't revealed the secret yet, just send it to me on a PM I'll tell nobody :)

lol Me telling you how to do something doesn't get your creative juices going!! You will be more proud of a shot that you figured out on your own, then one I told you how to do.......=) You have a great start on the motion thing......figure out what made the feeling of motion in your shot, from there figure out how to create that again. Keep shooting!!!
(Don't feel bad I thing I have only told like 6 people and none of them are even remotely interested in flowers....lol)

lol I know. One day with y'all C&C's and suggestions I'll be as creative as many of you.

For the third one, I'd have focused on the flower in the foreground instead.

Nice job trying rain shots. I am still trying to think about the best opportunity for rain shots. It's been raining every day here with lightning, but I just can't figure out a safe place to get some good shots. Somewhere I can get access to quickly. Some how to set up the gears without getting wet. Some where I don't have to worry about getting struck by lightning. Somewhere I can find good compositions, perhaps the landscape or objects.

There is a spot where it satisfy the scenery and accessibility part, but it's also right under a gigantic power tower, so I don't think that's a good idea.

Yea I wouldn't go out when lightning and raining near a tower lol. Well that's what I called this "Make It Rain" because when I took the photos it was sunny as could be but I used a water sprinkler ;) the scenery I took the photos wasn't the best either lol.
