So i took this pic a few days ago and i've been trying to edit it but it's not working out the way i want. I'm trying to get the pic to look like more of a reflection in the compact mirror. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can do that?

Great concept, but I can't think of a way for you to improve this photo. I would try something different, like a rear view mirror or a reflection in a window, and see if you like that better.

I would use the blur tool on low opacity to gently blend the edges of the little added image so it looks more a part of the mirror casing.
As is it looks pasted on.

also...when you make the initial selection of the small image....feather the edges! :)

I'm sure there must be some plug-in that adds glass reflections. Any of of you PS specialists out there got a suggestion?

You have an optical problem. If you think about it, the actual image in the reflection is say 10 foot or so behind you, so the focus on the mirror would be blurred as your focus should not be on the mirror/compact but on the image in the mirror. Trust this makes sense. Philip.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at Phillip. Are you saying that I should blur the image in the mirror?

No. Actually it is not possible for both hands holding the compact and mirror AND the photo IN the mirror to be sharp since if a photo that is about 10ft away from the mirror is in focus, the hands can no longer be (the image in the mirror, no matter how two-dimensional it is, is seen by the camera as as far away as it is in reality). Therefore - with the given depth of focus throughout this photo mirror AND reflection cannot be equally sharp and in focus.
